A sample of the gilded items I make is shown below. The selection will vary according to the time of year, but any suitable surface can be gilded. My favourite surface is unsanded wood, allowing the grain to show through.
I use gilding flakes, which come in a range of colours and often have complementary colours to create a multicoloured effect. When using leaf, I use artificial gold leaf as the effect is similar but significantly less expensive. Genuine gold leaf can be used if required.
